What is Youth Volunteer Corps of Washington County?

The Youth Volunteer Corps of Washington County has four fundamental goals: to engage young people in challenging, rewarding and educational service projects; to address the unmet needs of the community; to promote a greater understanding and appreciation for diversity; and to develop a lifetime ethic of service among young people.

Youth volunteers involved in YVC share their skills by tutoring elementary students, assisting at childcare programs, building or maintaining trails, removing graffiti, creating web pages for non-profit agencies, cleaning up parks and neighborhoods, and many, many more projects.

So what’s in it for you?

With YVC you can:

¨ make new friends

¨ build a resume

¨ develop new skills

¨ earn the Presidential Service Award and college scholarships

¨ connect to your community

¨ and feel good about what you can do for others!!!
